Southampton, Store Support Office

Join us as a Supply Chain Strategy Optimiser and you’ll be a big part of this. 

Role Purpose: Supporting multiple strategic initiatives both at a company level and on occasion Group. You will represent B&Q by supporting Kingfisher Franchise & Partnerships, providing a critical decision-making process for the company. You will support key strategic initiatives by data analysis and modelling of theories and hypothesis as they arise. You will maintain a focus on optimising replenishment at a store level, by forging links with other pillars in B&Q. This role will allow you to develop a very broad knowledge of Supply Chain across all product areas and routes to market, supporting and influencing a big network of peers, manager and leaders, continually innovating and providing insight to determine the future of the B&Q Supply Chain.

Key responsibilities

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Strategy

  • Working directly with the Strategic and Digital Supply Chain Manager you will Co-Ordinate the Supply Chain Strategic plan
  • Model and analyse key initiatives and concepts that fall under the Strategic plan
  • Make informed recommendations from the Strategic plan that will influence the Supply chain for the years ahead

Store Stock Optimisation

  • Build and grow store level availability, create reporting and determine key priorities for deeper analysis and correction of replenishment issues this will allow us to directly support Make Every Customer Count
  • Develop existing and create new processes and tools to optimise store stock delivery.

Franchise Support

  • Accountable for the procurement and release of stock to Franchise & Partnerships, minimising the risk to B&Q availability whilst satisfying the F&P demand
  • Development and delivery of an automated process to support Franchise & Partnerships

Required skills & experience

Required Skills & Experience:

  • High level of ownership and a proactive and dynamic approach to deliver results within a fast-paced environment
  • Able to analyse complex data effectively and efficiently, identifying root cause and best solution.
  • Good experience of forecasting and replenishment systems, SAP an advantage.
  • Good understanding of how to improve key performance measures.
  • Collaborative, engaging and effective communicator.
  • Ability to operate within detailed challenges and at high level to have a strong understanding of risks and opportunities within key project deadlines and activities.
  • Can challenge effectively as well as create great rapport with others.
  • Good level of commercial acumen and ability to make decisions on both data and instinct.
